Review of Bright (2017) by Emily F — 24 Dec 2017

I'm not entirely sure why so many people liked this movie... I WANTED to like this movie, but at the end of it, I found myself pretty much disappointed with the whole thing. While it has a few bright (ugh) spots, for the most part it's just really bad.

I grow tired of the "bad guys can't hit anything they shoot at while the heroes continue to headshot everything first try" trope. Also tiring is the "badass villains that tear through dozens of people simultaneously without breaking a sweat, only to seemingly forget all of their combative skills when facing off against the main character" trope.

Been there, done that, didn't really want to do it again, alas... Do yourself a favor and skip this. 2 hours would be better spent doing something else.
