Review of Bright (2017) by Anita P — 25 Dec 2017
I really liked this movie. It reminded me a lot of District 9. Bright had that same level of grittiness and hard realities of life mixed with fantasy/sci fi elements. The gradual reveal of magic was excellent and I have to say, this has already become one of my favourite movies. To be fair, Will Smith was essentially playing the same character he always does, but Joel Edgerton and Lucy Fry were fantastic.
Don't listen to the critics who seem to think that any movie with Fantasy elements is trying to be LoTR. Give it a watch and judge for yourself.
