Review of Bright (2017) by L L — 22 Dec 2017

I signed up for an account here solely to rave about how fun Bright was. I cannot believe all the hate coming from the snooty critics! Geez, lighten up, folks. This movie was crazy fun and the critics are way, way off base in their dissing of it.

Also, have people never heard of urban fantasy? That's exactly what this genre is. It is not a "Misguided Mashup Of Cop And Fantasy Genres" as so cutesily put by some reviewers. Urban fantasy (UF) is a legit genre that's been around for a long time in books, and there are film versions of UF as well.

Bright is a classic UF story, and it was well told. The beginning was a little slow, they handled the world building in a somewhat ponderous manner, but as soon as the action began, it was a great thrill ride.

I don't know what all the critics are moaning on about. This was hella fun, and I'm completely stoked to hear there's already a Bright 2 in the works. All the critics with sticks up their behind can just shove off and let the rest of us enjoy wicked fun entertainment like Bright.
