Don't listen to the critics on this. It's a great movie. It's dark and gritty and I love the notion of supernatural beings coexisting with humans in a non fantasy environment. There are tons of LOTR esque movies where all of the creatures exist together in never-ending war in some long dead era, but none where they make a concerted effort to coexist in a modern world.
