Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by Kitty O — 21 Oct 2007
I had been looking forward to seeing this for some time, and I must say I was disappointed. I found the film too "stagey" with lots of redundant narration. Not getting Alec's POV also hurt, as a lot of his lines just came off to me as cliched things people who have affairs say to each other.
So as much as I wanted to like it, I couldn't. Maybe that's my own fault for expecting too much?
