Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by Susan M — 31 Oct 2007
Temptation, surrender, emotional danger and understated passion. What more could you ask of a sweet romantic movie such as this? This film had to have been seen by the man who wrote The Bridges of Madison County.
Similar premise - that we can't help being swept away by our life's one true love. This story even has a special lover's bridge and a day away from reality similar to that which Robert Kincaid and Francesca Johnson shared.
Brief Encounter did it all with much more subtle tenderness the first time.
