Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by Emma-Leigh J — 25 Jun 2009
This film is like a delicate and beautiful bittersweet delight. There's something so intense yet also innocent about it all.
It was interesting to see new love from an adult perspective rather than the first flush of youth. Although this film portrays a couple cheating on their respective spouses you are completely drawn into their love. You want them to work because this love feels real and right.
The ending confused me as I didn't realise that was how the film was constructed.
Beautiful and heartbreaking.
