Lean's double-headed waltz accomplishes something unbearably beautiful: to challenge the majority of its audience by linking Laura's monologue to the narrow train station of the couple's farewell meetings in a most naturalistic manner,it's as if Johnson and Howard are actual characters,flesh and blood.
