Review of Bridget Jones's Baby (2016) by Val S — 13 Nov 2016

A mistake made by the Bridget Jones production team, thinking that the grandparent looking actress and actors behaving like immature teenagers will cast the magic we felt watching the first part. Nothing could be further from the sad reality.

The movie from the 10th minute goes from boring to irritating and I can only feel sorry for those who watched this film in cinema, not having the chance to walk out thinking about the ticket price. The first problem was that with Bridget Jones, there is no character development.

The same person 15 years ago, the same now. The problem that the 41 years old BJ is not cute anymore, not a troubled young woman. The 41 years old version is just downright stupid, not funnily awkward, but immature and idiotic.

I think it is utterly impossible to connect to a character who lives in London, has a top paid job but somehow incapable of building a meaningful life. Odd that BJ `s name is in the title. She is not doing anything.

Only things happening to her. She is not leading the story, but reacts to what has already happened. One thing possibly positive about this film. They managed to put in one movie everything a man would find irritating in a woman.

Maybe it`s not that surprising that BJ is single when in her 40s.:) One thing for sure . While watching, not once I heard laughter from the audience.
