Based on a book from the 1970s and adapted into the late 2000s, the story focuses on Jess Aarons played by Josh Hutcherson, who never seems to fit in his middle school. When his goal to become the fastest runner is unexpectedly beaten by a new girl named Leslie Burke played by Annasophia Robb, the two quickly become friends as they find out that they are also next door neighbours.

The two lonely kids run off into the woods, swing across a rope over a stream and find a magical kingdom they name Terabithia. Their adventures in their kingdom help them to stand up to bullies at school leading to Jess finally being himself.

Let me just talk about the actors first. I found The Hunger Games to be so boring that I left at the start of the film; in this movie, Josh Hutcherson plays the lead role well and I'm actually starting to like him as an actor.

I felt like I could step step into his shoes and be him. I remember when I was at middle school: Everyone turned against me like I was some sort of disease and I turned into the loneliest bastard in the world and the teachers were even worse! They said to sit in a corner and avoid them pretty much putting all the blame on me.

How the fuck did that help? Annasophia Robb who I have never seen in a movie before was pretty amazing as Leslie. I wish that I had a friend who experienced the same kind of creativity that I had. That's what this movie is all about: It's not just about the love and loss of your friends and family but also the imagination and creativity through children's eyes because they can think creative things which we adults sometimes mock but we have to understand that we cannot let that die away.

I love how this movie takes place in the 1970s where buildings are surrounded by grass plains and everything feels perfect. I'm only a 1990s kid but there was something about the exploitation era which had an incredibly softer side to it.

This movie gets your emotions every time from extremely happy to extremely sad when its tragic ending rises; don't worry I won't spoil it for you. This movie ranks among the other classic live children's movies such as The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe.

Bridge To Terabithia gets a solid 10/10.
