Review of Bridge of Spies (2015) by Regn752 — 23 Oct 2015
A word of warning, this film may be boring to those who are historically illiterate, have no interest in 20th century espionage, the attention span of a 10 year old or just too ignorant to enjoy a brilliantly acted high quality movie.
Spielberg adds this to his legacy of high quality and passionate films. I'm glad finally a movie was made about this infamous true story involving the then top secret U2 spy plane crash over soviet territory in the 60's.
The movie follows an insurance lawyer (excellently played by Tom Hanks) called by the state to defend an accused soviet spy. The events that unfold excellently portray the intelligence/espionage war that was the cold war between the east and west, and the looming possibility of an all out nuclear war.
