Review of Bride Wars (2009) by Matthew B — 02 Aug 2010
Of course this isn't going to be one you watch for the acting or the incredible story. It's fluff, and it knows it ... but that's also what makes it enjoyable fluff. Hathaway and Hudson look like they're having fun for the most part, and there are enough laughs between the two of them that it's not a waste of time.
There are some sour notes here (flat characters, annoying narrative sections by Bergen, the guys in the movie), but nothing that brings the overall film down. It's a good free rental, or a "catch-me-on-tv" type of movie, but not one that should be paid for.
