Review of Bride of the Monster (1955) by Tristan P — 31 Jul 2008
Like most of Ed Wood's films, this is nowhere near as bad as it's reputed to be. Bela Lugosi gives a passionate performance (credit him for never once playing down to his material) that ranks with his work in WHITE ZOMBIE, THE RAVEN et al.
Wood appears to be paying tribute to the PRC and Monogram horrors of the 40s (many of which starred Lugosi).
