Review of Bride of the Monster (1955) by Andrew H — 22 Oct 2010
I seriously suggest if you're going to venture into the hackeyed world of Ed Wood you should watch Tim Burton's masterpiece about him first. It almost give you some respect as to the love he had making these bad films & the problems he had producing them especially raising money.
Bride of the Monster is so bad that it does have entertainment value. I smiled whenever Tor Johnson was on screen & laughed whenever Lugosi beat him w/ that whip. I would have liked to see one of Johnson's wrestling matches.
He has big clubbing blows & a wicked front face lock. I don't know why Wood always has police in his movies; he can't write a criminal investigation worth shit...and what was w/ the Captain of Homicide & that fucking bird.
Just some terrible stuff but funny.
