Review of Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by Ali S — 25 Dec 2007
While Frankenstein was great, The Bride of Frenakenstein was horrible. They had completely different actors in the sequel that didn't even resemble those who were in the orginal. The sets had completely changed except for maybe the windmill.
And the sequel felt the need to add comic relief by way of one really annoying maid that thankfully didn't appear in the original. While the original movie aimed at adding to the horror genre and perhaps can be credited for creating it, the sequel seemed like a good idea gone bad.
Frankenstein miracously learns the English language and becomes calmer and gentler. Who wants to see that? What is this, made for TV? This movie does not make me anxious to see the other movies in this series.
