Review of Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by Edgar C — 23 Apr 2011
Few sequels in history have achieved to surpass the original masterpiece; Bride of Frankenstein is no exception. Whale increases the shock value of the first movie, applies a more tragic subplot and adds the sexual symbol Frankenstein so many years longed for. To be a movie follower of the 30s and to see such a violent concept put on screen may have caused a giant controversy by that time, yet it makes you think why classic horror is nowadays way more terrifying than the stupid amounts of gore used today in order to replace vision.
99/100.
