Review of Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by Tristan D — 05 May 2009
More than just a typical monster movie, this baby is fine art. Karloff, Lanchester, Clive, Frye and the others are all marvelous and Ernest Thesiger steals the show as Dr. Pretorius, the perfect queen of a mad scientist.
James Whale was at the top of his game, Waxman delivered a fairytale of a score and the blind hermit scene will leave you in tears. Easily the best of Universal's classic horrors and one of the greatest films of all time.
