Review of Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by Paul M — 16 May 2009
The finest example of classic horror to date. A movie that manages to do everything a movie should: make you laugh, make you (or if you're me, almost) cry, and make you smile. James Whale got free reign on this movie, as everything and everyone in it is purely Whale and purely awesome.
Great performances by Karloff, Lanchester, Clive, Frye, Heggie,O'Connor, and of course, Ernest Thesiger, who nearly steals the movie. A shame we never saw more of him.
