Review of Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by Brian S — 25 May 2010
Much more of a "camp tragedy" than its predecessor, but elements of horror do shine through. Dr. Pretorius is wonderfully sinister and creepy. the story relies much more on comic relief, such as the character of Minnie and Dr.
Pretorius' little people. what the first film presents in the "classic monster movie" genre, this film adds to it a variety of other thematic elements. though I personally found this film to be rather dry, it is in a way entertaining, not to mention a pioneer in film sequels.
