Review of Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by Mat K — 14 Jun 2010
This movie covers the second half of Mary Shelley's novel. Like the first one, the sequel is visually cool with great sets and lighting. In this movie the monster becomes more articulate and more sympathetic.
Despite telling us that it is a cautionary tale about playing God, it is actually a movie about what it is to be human and our tendencies to prejudge others. However it is still a heavy handed "B" movie script with often "B" movie acting.
Still it deserves its classic monster movie status.
