Review of Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by Joel A — 26 Nov 2010
Universal 1930's horror films...what's not to like...? James Whale struck gold back in 1931 with his head turning Frankenstein, now he is continuing this story further with the sequel.
I found the sequel quite enjoyable indeed, cool studio sets, questionable acting, early visual fx's...(keep an eye out for one incredible scene with midget people in glasses utterly amazing).
This film is likeable and when watching it, it does suck you in a little and you can see why the films where as successful as they where.
There is also a beatiful scene when Frankenstein encounters a blind man and he takes him in as one of his own, powerful scene, I was quite impressed. A tender honest moment....especially for a horror film.
