Review of Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by Forrest K — 26 Nov 2010
A truly off-the-rails sequel! After a kitschy comic opening, "Bride" explodes onto the screen with a horror and brutality the preceding film only hinted at, and from there the film proceeds on a cockamamie course that's dually horrifying and madcap.
It's all worth it for the quietly tragic friendship The Monster strikes up with a blind man in the woods, and the explosive ending is without compare.
