Review of Bride of Chucky (1998) by Jimmie F — 12 May 2011
The first three 'Child's Play' movies really were pretty bad, but the character of Chucky transcended to pop-culture icon nonetheless, and this film embraces that in all its absurdity. A relentless self-parody that sends up horror conventions with a wicked sense of humor and a surprisingly solid plot by original 'Child's Play' screenwriter Don Mancini.
Destined to be a cult classic in an ironic way the original movies never could - though, as fun as it is, it doesn't hold a candle to the inspired ridiculousness of its sequel.
