Review of Bride of Chucky (1998) by Andrew G — 07 Feb 2010
I had seen all of the chucky movies before I saw this one yesterday, the reason it took so long for me to watch it was because none of the stores sold it any more, but I picked it up at a second hand store for $3 yesterday.
I had my hopes up that it would be better than number 3 and 5, and it was. The kills were easily the most inventive I had seen in the franchise so far, much better than that of number 3. The story was pretty well laid out, which I haven't really seen since I saw the first Childs play movie.
The films humor definetly works, and is funny, unlike that of number 5. Unfortunately though, some of what was trying to be funny just seemed to get lost amidst one of Chucky or Tiffany's kills. Jennifer Tilly definetly did a superb job at acting, and voicing Tiffany. Brad Dourif, as usual, did great voice acting, and made you laugh throughout most of the film.
When I say that there was plenty of gore and ingenious kills for a chucky movie,i mean it. From Chucky setting a shirt on fire to blow up a cop's car, to Tiffany breaking the glass mirror above a couple having sex in their bed, it's all their.
Next to the original Childs play movie, this would have to be my favorite, and will satisfy any horror fans needs.
84/100.
