Review of Bride of Chucky (1998) by Chris W — 12 Aug 2010
Like most slasher film series, Child's Play ultimately devolves into a parodic version of itself, and Bride of Chucky is the film that marks that transition for the Child's Play franchise. A string of sadistic jokes for lovers of evildoers, Bride of Chucy is a humorous, entertaining ride for fans of slasher films and their cheesy sequels.
Seeing a young Katherine Heigl is an extra bonus as is seeing Chucky consumate his marriage to the doll version of Jennifer Tilly's character--a truly bizarre, twisted, and hilarious scene. A cheesy and awful piece of filmmaking that may be loved by a certain demographic.
