Review of Bride & Prejudice (2004) by Sarah G — 07 Jan 2008
It mirrors Pride and Prejudice, but leaves it at a superficial level. The emotional impact of the two leads just isn't there like it is in the book. This is partially because Mr. Darcy's acting was so boring and emotionless that there was no way to feel anything toward him.
The beautiful sets and the song/dance sequences try to make up for the lacking depth, but they only succeed in the slightest way. I think I'd have to be a more seasoned Bollywood watcher to really appreciate the dance routines.
