Review of Bride & Prejudice (2004) by Timmy L — 13 Sep 2008
It's just charming. Happy happy happy. I was smiling throughout the entire thing. And obviously it was a little inane seeing as how Gurinder Chadra attempted to combine Pride and Prejudice and Bollywood flavor into this, which can come off a little condescending, what with all the song-and-dance numbers.
Don't kill me, but the songs are pretty catchy. Heh. Characterization wasn't that great. I mean, some characters were sooooo underdeveloped (ahem Johnny Wickham, anyone?) Plus stupid Ashanti made a cameo as an Indian performer.
Oh my. Overall it's just a fun movie to watch when you don't need to use the noodle a whole lot.
