Review of Brick Mansions (2014) by Russ G — 25 Apr 2014
This movie is SOOOO bad. It is basically a low budget French movie to promote David Belle's acrobatic prowess in the form of a Jackie Chan-like martial arts master mostly without the martial arts. I cannot understand how Paul Walker chose to be part of this train wreck.
It also doesn't help that Walker is the driver in two high speed crashes in the film, in which, unlike real life, he easily walks away from. It seemed distasteful. The movie played like a comic book.
A BAD comic book. It was purely ridiculous. The dubbing of the foreign actors was at times very noticeable and when not dubbed accents poked out. I look forward to the next F&F to get this "bad taste out of my mouth".
Paul deserves a much better curtain call than this mess.
