Review of Brick Mansions (2014) by Jenn M — 17 Jan 2015
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this movie just yet....
At first, it was almost laughable, almost cheesy but then the action sequences started up. I actually had no idea this was a Luc Besson film until the parkour, and then it was just really obvious. The action sequences with the parkour were great, but the odd replay of the same trick as if I didn't catch it the first time was a little annoying.
The story wasn't actually that bad. I mean, it wasn't awesome but it wasn't bad either. Oppression and segregation of ghettos and government corruption.....staples of any sort of drama or action film.
Would I watch this again? hmm, probably not, but it wasn't so terrible that I can rip it apart either.
