Review of Brick Lane (2007) by Jean B — 03 Feb 2008
Passable adaptation of the Monica Ali novel, following the trials & tribulations of a Sylheti woman relocated to the East End as part of an arranged marriage. It's a nice story, but was somewhat confused by some rather muddled direction, & I was left with the overriding feeling that there was a better film to be made out of it.
