Review of Brick (2006) by David Z — 30 Mar 2011
This is a very dimensional film. You really have to pay attention to the whole story to really get the movie. At points I found myself having to rewind the movie to listen to phrases again. This movie is a very good one tho.
There is some action but not alot, the main thing that makes this movie so good and interesting is that it is a film noir is ways. It is a very dark film with very very dark comedy, if you can call it comedy.
The movie is about a teenager named Brenden who has to figure out who murdered his love Emily. He goes through lots of puzzles to find out the truth and it does get really confusing at some points. But as long as you watch the movie carefully and pay attention you should enjoy it and understand it.
It is the type of movie that you watch when you feel like watching something out of the ordinary. At times you will be on the edge of your seat hoping Brenden can find out more about the murder. There are 5 main characters in my opinion, they are Brenden, Laura, Tug, The Pin, and The Brain.
They all have a key role in Brenden's search. Some will hurt him and some will help, but it ends up being up to him to find the truth. This movie is definitely worth watching especially if you like film noir.
Good movie.
