Review of Brick (2006) by Lydia R — 09 May 2011
Writer/director Rian Johnson had the crazy idea to set a film noir in a modern high school and against all odds it works. All the elements of the genre are present; stark lighting, dark subject matter, trenchcoats, and sultry women.
The dialogue sounds like a lost Sam Spade mystery written by Dashiell Hammett for the young adult market.
