Review of Brick (2006) by Darkwingschmuck — 08 Mar 2022
Brick marks writer/director Rian Johnson's debut with style and wit. A contemporary high school setting with characters who talk and act as if they were in a 30s or 40s noir. This subtle and sly style of humor allows Brick to be tense one minute, and gut-bustingly hilarious the next.
It may still be the director's most creative work thus far.
