Review of Breathe (2017) by Sharon G — 23 Oct 2017
I have been waiting to see Breathe for months and finally saw it with my husband this weekend. I feel sorry for the critics that could not appreciate the real story of the Cavendish family, believing that this family couldn't possibly be this optimistic and humorous while experiencing such a serious illness like polio. According to those that personally knew the family and are friends with Diana and Jonathan, this movie was completely accurate and did not need to make the story bleak and depressing to impress heartless critics. There was only so much that could be fit into the movie format and I feel Mr. Serkis did an excellent job. I wanted to know more about the beginning of their courtship but could appreciate their love at first sight and moving on with the rest of their story.
The chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy was beautiful and obvious and their love story touched myself and my husband to the point of having to console him after it ended! If you are an Andrew Garfield fan like I am, you will not be disappointed and will love him even more.
