Review of Breaking and Entering (2006) by Evita Z — 08 Sep 2008
Horribly boring, pretensious and clich©d. I felt no feeling from the actors, they were almost like talking heads, if the heads were those of masks. Hence it was hard to feel for the characters as well. Jude Law's character turns to the window over and again for something that strives to be a dramatic silence. Icelandic films sadly often share the same things that I found annoying about this film. I and my friend were the only one in the movie-hall and it's easy to see why. I actually found my self aiming my foot at Jude Law's head on the screen, that's how bloody annoying I found him in this movie.
The reason that it gets 1 star and not zero is that it sprung from a decent idea that was turned into rubbish.
