Review of Breaking and Entering (2006) by Shannon S — 16 Feb 2009
Despite its faults (most notably that it doesn't pull together and mean anything until the audience's attention may have wandered), this is deeper than it appears, but not as deep as it might intend.
Law is one again the clueless rogue (which is getting duller by the minute), but the rest of the cast work well, especially Binoche who effortlessly charms so much that the script never really convinces as to why Law returns to his comparatively underwritten family.
Although it's destined to be underrated, this is a little gem, but not a film I'd need to watch twice.
