Review of Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) by Patrick B — 23 Jul 2010
Audrey Hepburn makes the movie great, and Mickey Rooney almost topples the movie completely. Luckily, Rooney is only in the film for about 10 minutes total, so just go get some popcorn or something whenever he comes on screen.
But seriously, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is great stuff. The dialogue is sharp, and Audrey Hepburn is sublime as Holly Golightly. The romance doesn't always work, but that scene at the very end in the taxi cab makes up for any romantic shortcomings.
It's the best acting in a taxi cab since Marlon Brando in "On the Waterfront".
