Review of Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) by Eric K — 16 Aug 2010
This movie angers me slightly. The portrayal of quirky, flighty, independent people as lonely, miserable, self-centered beings embittered me. Additionally, people do NOT belong to other people. Just because you love someone, it does not make them your personal property! People belong to themselves.
.. Period!... That said, the film did have its bright spots. A cast of characters with a multitude of oddities certainly prevented any yawning. Ms. Hepburn is also rather radiant as a bubbly manhattan socialite.
Worth a watch... recommending despite the aforementioned caveats.
