Review of Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) by Indi V — 05 Apr 2011
Let's start with the good: Audrey Hepburn. She looks fantastic and her performance is very good as well. The costumes are nice and the score is sublime. Now for the bad: It's really weird in its story structure.
It feels like it should end around where Holly's father shows up, but it doesn't. I won't go on about Mickey Rooney, it's obvious what's wrong there. Still, it feels weird and I can't tell if it's a comedy or a drama.
On the other hand, it's romantic, wonderful, and works because Hepburn owns every minute she's on film.
