Review of Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) by Linda J — 07 May 2012

Funny and a real treat. A great classic comedy that makes you giggle without the need of crude jokes. Except the stereo types used against Asians in this one was a little futile. I know it was a different time but for a watch now-a-days it is a little offensive and disturbing.

The buck teeth went a little to far. But I don't rate on subject matter. So, putting all the negatives aside this was a really good film. The plot itself was interesting and great at the same time.

It was a great mix of drama, comedy, and romance. How often do you see films with all those genres mixed and able to pull it off? The dialogue was one of the best parts. Having said that this has great writing.

I remember I really liked some one liners but I am unable to recall them at the moment. You know what they say about people that watch a lot of films. We tend to forget them after a short time period.

That's what I get for getting lazy and waiting eight days after watching this to write the review. The direction was great except it did lack in the final scene. I know it was a really emotional a good scene.

But it could have been done better if the direction was stronger. It did feel a little cheesy. But this is coming from a man so don't get to bummed out. Other noble mentions include the costume design and production value.

That outfit Audrey Hepburn is wearing sure is nice. I forgot to mention that the acting was lacking a bit from time to time. But after watching this I completely fell in love with Audrey Hepburn. My favorite scene would have to be the party.

It feature some funny dialogue and unusual guests. If you like funny classics with a sophisticated look then this would be for you.
