Review of Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) by Oat Summer G — 18 Jan 2014
Grade: A*.
Breakfast at Tiffany's is poignant, charming and heartwarming, making if one of my all time favourites. The movie is about a young woman named Holly Golightly, who's number one aim is to marry a man who is a millionaire, but she finds herself falling for her new neighbour, a struggling writer who is far from rich. Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard are both charming in this and have great chemistry and I loved watching them together. I think that characters were great and despite Mr Yunioshi's character being labelled offensive, I found him hilarious. I think Breakfast at Tiffany's has a lot of depth to it and it was something that really moved me as an audience. I really felt for Holly, whose just a lost, sad and confused girl underneath her confident charade. I loved everything about the film; the New York setting, the characters and of course the famous Cat. This film is a true classic and one of my favourite romantic films.
