Review of Breakdown (1997) by Bob S — 15 Feb 2010
Would having your vehicle break down on a desolate highway be your worst nightmare? In this film, your worst nightmare comes true in spades. The movieâ??s success hinges on the reality of the situation.
At first, you are frightened as local hicks terrorize Russell & Quinlan during their cross-country road trip by playing plausible mind games and leaving them uncertain of who to trust. However, I found myself less wrapped-up as the story progresses and Russell begins to take control by inconceivably taking on the villainous heavy, successfully maneuvering through a speeding semiâ??s undercarriage, and dangling from a bridge warding off certain death.
The bad guys are all pure evil â?? a must for suspense flicks like this one.
