Review of Bread and Roses (2000) by Jason S — 27 Mar 2011
Too much polemic to really set sail, Bread & Roses is nevertheless a good movie to watch when the country is increasingly anti-immigrant, when labor issues are dominating the headlines, and George Lopez is a nice guy on late-night.
Shocking that this movie was made before the W administration. Gives you a good insight into what janitors and labor organizers risk, but the whole story is a bit of emotional junk punch. Let me put it this way.
If your girl thinks this is a great date movie, dump her.
