Interesting to see this again after quite a number of years after seeing it (at least 10!) This saga of William Wallace and Scotland's quest for freedom won lots of oscars, and it's easy to see why, fairly sweeping, romance, lots of battles, and Mel Gibson, Surprisingly hasn't lost any of it's power, though curious comparisons to Lord Of The Rings could be drawn.
