Review of Braveheart (1995) by Rocky R — 29 Apr 2014
I really enjoyed this film, despite the historical inaccuracies. It is starting to show its age with the camerawork in the battles and some of the less-than-believable costumes used, but it was still a very entertaining film.
Mel Gibson is fantastic as William Wallace, giving us a passionate, loving man who just wants his people to be free, and who also isn't afraid to taunt the more powerful, experienced foe with a wisecrack before one of the bloodiest battle in film history.
The pre-battle speech that he gives is still movie gold, and the multiple gruesome deaths in this film can make even the burliest man tear up. I loved this movie, and I would watch it again anytime.
