Although it may miss historical factuality, this film exceeds in telling the exaggerated story of William Wallace with incredible direction, strong action sequences, and a great cast. The film in extremely engaging and equal amounts romantic, thrilling, and heartbreaking.
It may have been possible to make the film more historically accurate without sacrificing the stretches needed for drama, but nonetheless the film is no less of a great film even if it is somewhat inaccurate.
