Review of Brave (2012) by Chrisanne C — 05 Sep 2013
Entertaining and sweet with good life values that will delight the family. What makes Brave refreshing is in the portrayal of the lead female character, Princess Merida, the animated version of a Katniss Everdeen, also a skilled archer.
It's a timely departure from the traditional gender stereotyping of fairy tale princesses such as Snow White, helpless and need to be saved by a prince. Princess Merida instead comes across as strong and empowered as she races against time to correct her mistake.
