Review of Killer Bean Forever (2008) by Pedram H — 05 Aug 2010
This is a real oddity. It's an animate flick with no discernible audience. The pacing is too slow for kids and there's little here to interest adults either. There's some good ideas and for what looks to be a meagre budget the animation isn't too bad.
Director Jeff Lew obviously grew up loving action films of the Nineties with their slow-mo, double-gun wielding, flying through the air nonsense and built a so-so plot around it. The humour doesn't work, the character's faces give little away and there's pacing issues too.
However I quite liked the look so I'd go out on a limb here and say that with a larger budget Mr. Lew is capable of giving us the dazzle he so desperately attempted to give us here despite his money limitations.
