Review of Brave (2012) by Dominic Martin A — 31 Oct 2013
Brave is Pixar's first Disney movie that features Merida, a girl striving to be more than what her family has decided for her. The premise of the film is great, with Merida striving for independence and deviance to her supposed fate.
The thing is, the film went through a steep slope in one point of the film and the quality started to degrade from there. There was not enough emotional depth that people were expecting from a premise such as this and from the creators (Pixar).
People had expected more from Pixar, and this caused the disappointment people felt when walking out the theater. Putting that aside, the film is still a relatively good family movie that offers content that both children and adults can enjoy.
