Review of Brassed Off (1996) by Jason J — 04 Feb 2011
Rest In Peace Pete Postlethwaite. He is legendary in this. He elevates an otherwise really good film into a really great one. Its got a nice understated love story - with the beautiful Tara Fitzgerald - its got great toe tappin music, its got a gripping tragic tale of impending unemployment, its got characters that feel real and that you enjoy spending time with, its got warmth and humour by the barrel but most lastingly its got a tale of a father and his son. Postlethwaite and the geezer who plays his son are the standout performances but everyone makes an impression and does sterling work. It doesnt offer any easy answers and seems all the more real because of it. It really is a wonderful little film.
What is goin on with that poster tho?
